Demand for Cyprus grows for out of the season period
Despite the opening of Turkey, sales of Cyprus have grown this year. As a result of the first six months, almost 333 thousand of Russian tourists visited Cyprus, which is 11% more than during the same period in 2016. According to the Cyprus Tourism Organization, during the first six months Russian tourist flow to Cyprus showed positive dynamics, sometimes even double-digit. Meanwhile, it is important that Russian market has grown in arrivals to Cyprus in low season, which is undoubtedly the merit of the tour operators who promoted the direction in the winter. So in January the number of Russian tourists in Cyprus increased by 158% in comparison with January 2016 (13.7 thousand people). In February the growth was 96% (14.44 thousand people), in March - 55% (almost 20 thousand people), in April - 22% (47 thousand people). The company TUI said that the preferences of their customers against the last year have not changed: the most popular holiday destinations are Ayia Napa and Protaras. "In the first half of the season demand was much higher than last year, sales were also much higher than in the last year", - the press service of the tour operator said.
