By the number of tourists in Antalya Russia leads with a share of 38%
During the period from January to August 2018 almost 9.2 million foreign tourists have already visited Antalya, which is 87% of the total tourist traffic for the whole 2017 year. The Russian market remains the leader of the incoming tourism in Antalya: it accounts 38.45% of the total foreign tourist flow.
According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Antalya, the total number of foreign tourists for the first 8 months increased by 28.3% in comparison with the same period of 2017. In total the resort hosted tourists from 180 countries.
For the last two years Russia is the leader by arrivals: for the first 8 months 3,367,152 citizens of Russian Federation rested on Anatolian beaches. This is 24,03% more than in the same period of the last year. Highly likely, that by the end of September the Russian market will exceed the figure for the whole 2017 (3.8 million tourists).
Germany is after Russia with a figure of 1.4 million tourists (+ 30.2%) and Ukraine has a "bronze" (537.7 thousand people - 1, 73%). Also in the TOP-5 of the incoming markets of Antalya are Great Britain (440 thousand, + 69%) and the Netherlands (almost 290 thousand people, + 47%).
Almost all European markets showed double-digit growth dynamics in comparison with the same period of 2017. Attention is paid to the success of Kazakhstan: with the index of 192 thousand tourists it became the seventh in the TOP-10 of the incoming markets, bypassing Romania, Belgium and Denmark.
In 2018Antalya expects 14 million foreign tourists, including about 4.5-5 million Russians
