Bookings to Spain from Russia increased by 30 per cent
The number of early booked tours to Spain increased by almost a third, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to the tour operators. "The volume of early bookings for Spain this year exceeded the last year's figures by 34%. Tours to Costa Brava and Costa Dorada are in high demand, as well as Barcelona. Average duration of the tour is 10-11 nights. Both three- and four star hotels are in demand, " the head of department on public relations of tour operator Coral Travel Marina Makarkova said. The company Natalie Tours also noted that the demand for Spanish destination increases weekly. Catalonia is most demanded, with about 60% of the total number of bookings to Costa Dorada. Costa del Sol shows also growing interest of tourists, tour operators stated. Tour operators also reported about an increase in demand for Spanish islands. So, Tenerife is booked for the end of March, April and May holidays. Majorca started to be booked quite a lot. Tour operators advise tourists to take this into account and plan their vacation in advance, because there may not be enough rooms on Majorca for everyone. As noted in the ATOR, the growing demand for holidays in Spain both in the European markets, and in Russia, predicts high prices for tours this summer. "This is partly due to the increased sales volume of the program early booking, which provide discounts of 20-30%,» the press service of the Association explained. According to ATOR, in 2015, 956 thousand Russians visited Spain, which is 32% less than the year before.
