Arrivals from Russia to Spain fell by 37%

For eight months of 2015, Spain was visited by 675.2 thousand Russian tourists, which is 36.7% less than in the same period of the last year, according to the statistics of the Institute of Tourism of Spain Turespana. In August, the Russian tourist's flow decreased by 34.2% and amounted to 171.2 thousand people. In total in August 2015, Spain was attended by 9.2 million foreign tourists, which is 1.6% more than in the same month of the last year. This number exceeded the historic high set in August 2014. By the end of August, the leaders are Great Britain (2.15 million tourists), France (2.09 million) and Germany (1.19 million). At the same time the first two countries have shown a slight increase, while the number of tourists from Germany declined by 8.1% compared to August 2014. For the first eight months of 2015, the total tourist's arrivals amounted to 47.2 million people, which is 4.1% more than in January-August of the last year.
