Antalya expects to host more than 10 million tourists in 2017

“According to the results of 2017, Turkish Antalya expects to receive 10.5 million tourists”, - said Munir Karaloglu, the Governor of the resort region. "From January to mid August the increase of tourist flow to Antalya region amounted 65% in comparison with the same period of 2016, and the growth of the number of tourists was 6,5 million", - he added. The year 2016 was very difficult for Antalya, which was connected with the decrease of the tourist traffic from Russia and the problems of tourist safety in the country. The number of tourists decreased by 43% against the result of 2015 (up to 6 million people). As previously reported, almost 1.7 million Russian tourists visited Turkey in January-June 2017. In total, over 12 million foreign tourists visited the country during this period, which is 14.5% more than in the same period of the last year. Russia is on the first place by the number of tourists who visited Turkey in January-June this year.
