Antalya expects 2.6 million Russian tourists at the end of 2017

According to the Head of the council, Recep Yavuz, the forecasts for 2017 are favorable mainly due to the returning of the Russian market, which by the end of the year should become the main market of Antalya. The region expects 2.6 million tourists from Russia, which is 5.3 times higher than in 2016 (486 thousand people). In general, at least 3.4 million tourists from CIS countries, including Russia, are expected to visit Antalya. At the same time, according to the forecast, the number of tourists from Europe will decrease by 28%. In May, Antalya was visited by more than a million foreign tourists, while almost 505.000 of them were Russians.
