Ajman hotels record highest occupancies in UAE
Ajman hotels have once again posted the highest occupancies rates across the seven emirates. Ajman also closed the first quarter of this year with the highest occupancies rates.
A new report from CBRE showed that Ajman hotels had an occupancy of 77.9 percent up to October of this year. Dubai recorded its highest occupancy rate of 80.7 percent during October 2021, which is being attributed to Expo. Year-on-year, Dubai, Fujairah and Ajman saw ADR increases of 14.9 percent, 13.8 percent and 3.9 percent respectively.
The overall UAE saw ADRs inch up by 13.6 percent. RevPARs also increased 44.9 percent YOY in October year-to-date with Dubai, Ajman and Sharjah seeing increases of 57.1 percent, 51.0 percent and 37.3 percent respectively.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of the Department of Tourism Development Ajman (ATDD), told Hotelier Middle East at the time: “Achieving the first rank in hotel occupancy in Q1 of 2021 is the stepping stone of where Ajman is headed. In harmony with a strategic vision and focusing on sustainability, the emirate will scale as an important touristic destination in the UAE and is becoming more and more attractive to tourists. It is remarkable what small cities can achieve when coupled with a wise leadership.”
Al Geziry said the figure was down to collaborative efforts across the emirate.
He explained: “Despite Ajman being the smallest emirate in the country, the collaborative efforts between Ajman Tourism Development Department and its hospitality stakeholders resulted in occupying the number one position in occupancy level among all other emirates.
