Aeroflot and Vietnam Airlines have concluded an agreement on the joint operation of flights
“Aeroflot and Vietnam Airlines have signed an agreement on the joint operation of domestic and international flights (code-sharing) in Vietnam and Russia,” the press service of the Russian airline reports.
"The new format of cooperation of carriers allows to offer passengers more opportunities for comfortable travel and new convenient connections between a number of points in Russia and Vietnam. The agreement contributes to strengthening business ties between the two countries," the report said.
“Code-sharing” applies to Aeroflot flights on the following routes: Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh, Moscow (Sheremetyevo) - St. Petersburg, Ufa and Krasnodar; and also on Vietnam Airlines flights on the routes Hanoi - Moscow (Sheremetyevo), Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc, Nha Trang.
Vietnam Airlines operates three flights a week on the route Moscow-Hanoi on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Aeroflot operates nine flights a week between Moscow and Vietnam, including daily flights to Hanoi and a flight to Ho Chi Minh City twice a week.
Since the first flight, over 25 years, the Vietnamese airline has transported more than 1.6 million passengers between Vietnam and Russia. In 2018, Russia ranked sixth in the list of international countries providing the largest inbound tourist flow. According to forecasts, by 2020 the number of Russian tourists in Vietnam will grow to 1 million.
