Tunisia expects to host a million Russian tourists in 2017

Given the fact that Egypt is not still opened, some people are afraid to go to Turkey, and budget hotels in Spain, Greece and Cyprus are already "on stop" – the Russian tourists, who are just planning to rest, are limited in their choice of options. In 2016, Tunis could return only 6-7% of the total incoming tourist flow, which was lost after the terrorist attacks in 2015. At the same time, the number of tourists from Russia increased rapidly, reaching more than 600 thousand. The deputy of the Parliament of Tunisia Zohra Idris believes that this is due not only to the lack of the most popular directions for Russians, but also to the unprecedented measures, taken by the country to ensure the safety of guests. Another important factor is subsidizing the charter flights: for each flight the customer receives $ 4 thousand, and if there are more than 235 seats on board - $ 4,5 thousand. "A year ago, in April 2016, we planned to host maximum 250,000 Russian tourists for season. However, in May-June we realized that this figure will be much higher. And now we also have feelings that the results of the season will exceed expectations. At this moment, Tunisia has provided a flight program for 450,000 tourists from Russia. However, the tour operator Anex Tour already informed us about a significant increase of the flight program. I think the other companies will make a similar decision", - said Zohra Idris
