Tourist flow from Russia to Spain fell by almost 29,5% in January-March
The tourist flow from Russia to Spain in March fell by almost 70% due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to data from the country's National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In March, 21,4 thousand tourists from Russia visited Spain, which is 69,8% less than in the same month a year earlier. Most of the guests in March came from the UK (397 thousand, minus 64,2%), Germany (278 thousand, minus 65,7%) and France (289 thousand, minus 57,3%), as well as from countries Northern Europe (164 thousand, minus 66,8%).
In general, foreign tourist flow to the country decreased by 64,3% and amounted to 2 million people. Tourist spending in March fell by 64% - to 2,2 billion Euros.
In January-March, 10,6 million foreign visitors visited Spain, which is 25,6% less than a year earlier. 132,2 thousand people came from Russia during these months (minus 29,5%).
