Tour operators prepare package tours to Myanmar on direct flights

From September 6, tourists from Novosibirsk will be able to fly by direct flights to Myanmar. Tour operators are already working on launching package tours on Myanmar Airways flights.

Interest in Myanmar before the pandemic was constrained by the lack of direct flights (except for special flights) and the country's marketing activity on the Russian market.

As for direct flights, unsuccessful attempts to establish direct tourist flights from Russia to Myanmar were made in 2008. And in 2022, Myanmar Airways International had plans to launch charters and passenger flights between Yangon and Moscow. However, the first and so far the only city from which direct flights to Myanmar will fly from September 6 will be Novosibirsk.

According to CEO of Space Travel tour operator Artur Muradyan, the launch of direct flights on the route Novosibirsk - Mandalay (technical landing) - Yangon against the backdrop of a continuing shortage of available foreign destinations will increase Russian interest in Myanmar. The company is already preparing package tours to Myanmar for residents of Novosibirsk.

“Our package tours to Myanmar on Myanmar Airways direct flights are in the final stages. We will put them up for sale in the near future. There will be both beach and sightseeing options,” says the CEO of Space Travel.

Experts believes that Myanmar has every chance of becoming a good alternative to Vietnam in the upcoming winter season, where direct flights now fly from only one Russian city - Irkutsk.

As for the prices for tour packages to Myanmar with a departure from Novosibirsk, they will be approximately at the level of prices for tours to Thailand.
