The visa regime between Russia and Japan is simplified

“Since January 1, 2017 the Russian and Japanese sides on the basis of reciprocity enacted synchronized measures aimed at simplification of the visa regime for trips of citizens of both countries”, - according to the data of the Russian Foreign Ministry. In particular, the Russian consular offices abroad will now issue the Japanese citizens multiple tourist visas (including for the tourism purpose) up to 6 months, multiple private visas up to one year, as well as multiple business or humanitarian visa up to five years. “With the multiple tourist visas citizens of Japan will be able to stay on the territory of the Russian Federation not more than 30 days for one visit and totally no more than 90 days. With the multiple private, business and humanitarian visas - continuously up to 90 days and totally no more than 90 days of each period of 180 days”, - says the Russian Foreign Ministry. For Russian citizens the maximum period of validity of multiple-entry visas for short trips increased up to five years.
