The demand for tours to Turkey has grown 50 times
Russian tourists continue to buy tours to Turkey: the demand has grown by 50% compared to last year. This assessment was presented by the experts of Tinkoff Travel and the Travelata service after the opening of Turkey.
The main conclusions are as follows:
- after the opening of Turkey, the demand for tours has grown 50 times;
- sales of tours to Turkey increased by 50% compared to August 2020 (when Turkey was opened after the lockdown);
- the demand for air tickets to Turkey has increased almost 11 times. It is also 6 times higher compared to the same period of 2019 and almost 2 times after the opening of Turkey in August 2020;
- the average cost of air tickets to Turkey in the period from June 18 to June 28, 2021 was 151 Euros, in 2020 – 127 Euros, in 2019 – 97 Euros;
- after the introduction of anticovid restrictions in the Kuban region, tourists abandoned about 5% of tours to these resorts in July;
- after the news about the opening of Turkey, purchases of tours to Crimea have been reduced by almost 2 times.
The day after the resumption of flights, an increase of the cost for living at the resorts of Turkey was recorded: several popular hotels at once rose the price by 1,5-2 times.
The average cost of tours in the first week after the resumption of flights with Turkey in 2021 is 742 Euros at a three-star hotel, 868 Euros at a four-star hotel and 1 233 Euros at a five-star hotel.
In June 2021, the level of sales of tours to Turkey almost reached the pre-pandemic level: a decrease in demand was recorded only by 5% less compared to the same week in June 2019.
The demand for air tickets from 18 to 28 June 2021 increased almost 11 times compared to the previous week of June. It is also 6 times higher compared to the same period in 2019 and almost 2 times after the opening of Turkey in August 2020. The average cost of air tickets to Turkey in the period from 18 to 28 June 2021 amounted to 151 Euros.
