Egypt is one of the leaders of demand for the May holidays, but the peak of sales of the destination has not yet arrived, according to tour operators.
Egypt is among the TOP-5 most booked destinations for the May holidays among all major tour operators. “For example, Egypt is the second resort in demand (share of 36% of May holiday bookings), only slightly behind the leader - the United Arab Emirates (39%),” Tez Tour sales statistics reported.
Good demand for tours to Egypt in May is also noted by Pegas Touristik, which has launched in March a summer flight program to Sharm El Sheikh on the wings of Southwind Airlines from four cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Yekaterinburg. Flights are operated with an intermediate landing in Antalya.
As the tour operators say, the most actively booked dates are April 27 and 30, as well as May 2, 4 and 7.
The tour operator Fun&Sun reported that in general, in March more than 25% of the flight program was implemented for May dates in the Egyptian destination, but the main sales of May tours are expected from the beginning of April.
Similar assessments are shared by Russian Express and Pac Group. The companies are also waiting for a revival of sales in April, since most of the bookings of Egyptian resorts are now made in the last minute format (“last minute”, that is, a few days or a week before departure).
“Tourists are now tending to book trips closer to the departure date,” sum up the Russian Express.
As per tour operators, now tourists can book tours to Egypt to 4* and 5* hotels, AI (7-8 nights) from $ 1 688 for two persons, and for a family of 2 adults and 1 child (up to 12 years old) - from $ 2 080.
According to experts, against the backdrop of increased demand by mid-April, the cost of tours to Egyptian resorts will increase by at least 15-25%.
