Thailand strives to enter the TOP New Year's destinations among Russian tourists

Thailand can enter the TOP-5 foreign destinations for Russian tourists for the New Year holidays, competing with Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and the Maldives.

“The dynamics of sales of the Thai destination shows that the Kingdom is trying to be in the top five destinations,” Oksana Volkanova, development director of the tour operator Ics Travel Group, shared her observations.

Ms. Volkanova's observations are shared by representatives of other tour operators who send tourists to Thailand.

Prgas Touristik records active sales of recently offered tours arranged on direct charter flights of Ikar airline.

Russian Express says that they have already sold half of the block of seats on Etihad for the New Year holidays. Tez Tour tourists are also active in the issue of buying tours to Thailand for the New Year holidays. Describing the demand, the company called it as dynamic. “At the moment, the New Year holidays are the most popular period in terms of the number of bookings of tours to Thailand,” Tez Tour reported.

Despite active bookings, most experts are not in a hurry to say that tourists are "actively buying up" New Year's tours to Thailand.

They say that such big surge of sales, as in other years - when 70% of annual bookings of tours to Thailand fell on the winter period - in this year should not be expected. However, the potential of the destination should not be underestimated. Thailand is traditionally in demand during the winter season.
