Thailand received more than 815 thousand Russians

Thailand is striving for a full restoration of the volume of Russian tourist traffic by the end of 2023. And, judging by the current statistics, the goal will be achieved - more than 800 thousand Russians visited the country in the period from January 1 to July 12, of which more than 50 thousand Russians - in June. Russia is in the third place in the world and a leader among non-Asian countries.

According to official data, for the first six months - from January 1 to July 1 - Thailand received 791 562 Russians. Of these, 50 770 Russians arrived in June. In July, probably, the values will be exactly the same - taking into account the fact that only over the first 12 days of the second month of summer, 24 327 tourists from Russia visited the country.

In total, for the period from January 1 to July 12, 815 889 Russians arrived in Thailand. The total tourist flow amounted to 13 809 597 and has already exceeded the values of the entire 2022. The obtained values provided Russia with the third place in the ranking of world source markets. Russia is after Malaysia (2 192 6222 tourists) and China (1 598 849).

Russia is followed by South Korea with a value of 812 203 tourists for the period from January 1 to July 12, 2023. India closes the top five, from where 808 605 tourists arrived during the above period.

Demand forecasts for Thailand for the autumn and winter seasons from tour operators are good. Tours for September-October-November are already being actively sold, the sales depth reaches May 2024.

Tour operators say that Thailand in 2023 has every chance of completely restoring the pre-covid volume of Russian tourist traffic, which was at the level of 1,47 million Russians in 2019.

Nowadays, the programs for the winter season on charter flights have already been launched by the tour operators Fun&Sun and Pegas Touristik.
