Tanzania becomes the leader

According to the Level.Travel service, 12% of tourists planned to celebrate the New Year on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania. While normal circumstances, this resort rarely accounts for more than 1% of sales, but amid coronovirus in 2020, the country turned out to be the most affordable winter beach destination.

In November, Zanzibar entered into the TOP-3 most popular countries, accounting for 21% of sales, as Level.Travel reports.

It was possible to fly to Zanzibar for New Year's holidays for at least 1 487 Euros for two persons for 7 days. This tour includes flight from Moscow and back, insurance, transfer and accommodation at budget hotel with breakfast. At the same time, prices for the most affordable New Year's holidays in Cuba started from 2 974 Euros, in the Maldives - from 3 404 Euros.

Holidays in Zanzibar were primarily chosen by couples - 67%, in the second place were single travelers (16%) and families with children (15%). Most tourists prefer accommodation at 3* hotels, BB (39%).

The most popular hotel in Zanzibar among Level.Travel users in the winter season is Ndame Beach Lodge 3*. In the second place is the boutique hotel Moja Tuu Luxury Villas And Nature Retreat 4*. Nowadays, there are no more tours for these hotels till January, 15.
