Armenia Airlines increases the frequency of flights to the capital of Russia up to two flights a week.

The travel service Tutu.ru analyzed all air tickets, sold from any city in Russia, with travel dates from December 1, 2019 to March 1, 2020 and compiled a rating of destinations that are most popular.

Experts from Aeroclub business tourism agency analyzed airline reservations made by business representatives from Russia over five years, and found out what trends changed in business trips to neighboring countries in 2019.

Tour operator Coral Travel has opened the sale of tours to Armenia. Today in the reservation system of the tour operator there are 4 excursion programs on the destination. In the future, the product range will be expanded.

This winter season Armenia promises to become one of the fastest growing destinations on the Russian market. Against the background of a rapid decline of the Russian tourist flow to Georgia, large tour operators significantly expand their assortment in Armenia, offering new resorts and types of holidays in this country.

Other countries of the Transcaucasus, Armenia and Azerbaijan, where tour operators saw a noticeable increase, benefited from the closure of Georgia. Also, Turkey, the Black Sea coast of Russia and Abkhazia note an increase of the Russian tourist flow. This assessment was voiced at a press conference by the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze

Moscow airport Domodedovo and Smart Avia air company inform about the regular flight on the route: Moscow-Yerevan-Moscow. This flight will be fulfilled three times a week on Monday, Friday and Sunday.   In 2019 the request on Armenian capital flights increased. During January-June period of this year there were 220 000 passengers travelling between Moscow and Yerevan. The total increase of the demand is 29% in comparison to 2018.  

Armenia is ready to host up to 1.5 million tourists from Russia annually - such data was presented by the Armenian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vardan Toganyan. According to him, at the moment the share of Russian tourists is half of foreign tourists visiting Armenia, including tourists of combined tours. 

“The Russian citizens can visit Armenia with internal passports only through the air harbors”, -said the press-secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan. "The Russian citizens can visit Armenia by the internal passports only through "Zvartnots" airport in Yerevan and "Shirak" airport in Gyumri," – added T. Balayan. On January 24 the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev after talks with his Armenian counterpart said, that Russian citizens will be able to visit Armenia with internal passport.

“Russian citizens will be able to visit Armenia with internal passport”, - said the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. "We agreed that the inhabitants of our country will be able to travel to Armenia with internal passports, all the necessary document were signed", - Medvedev reported after the talks with his Armenian counterpart Karen Karapetyan. Following the results of the talks, the sides signed a document about changing in some provisions of the agreement on mutual visa-free trips of citizens of both countries. "It will strengthen cooperation in such important sphere as humanitarian human dimension", - Medvedev said. As the tour operators consider, the possibility of visiting Armenia with internal passports will make the country more attractive for the Russians and may increase the tourist flow at least by 10%

“The airline company "Pobeda" has received approval for flights from Moscow to Gyumri - the second largest city of Armenia”, - according to the data of the Federal Air Transport Agency. The approval is issued on flights seven times a week. Earlier, "Pobeda" has received approval for flights from Rostov-on-Don to Yerevan.

On March 17, Grozny Avia airline started to operate flights from Kursk to Yerevan, according to the director of the international airport of Kursk Valery Stoyanov. Flights will be operated once a week until December 2016 on Yak-42D with a capacity of 100 people. Air company Grozny Avia was established in 2007. The airline is engaged in transportation of passengers, cargo and mail on domestic and international routes.
