Sochi Became The Most Popular City For Traveling With Kids
Sochi became the most popular city for Russians for traveling with kids on spring break. This southern destination beat Saint-Petersburg and Moscow both by number of bookings and by their duration. However, Sochi is the most expensive city for holidays according to information of online booking service Oktogo.ru.
An average duration of family trip to Sochi is 6 days, to Saint-Petersburg – 4 days, to Moscow – 3 days. Tourists with kids pay on the average for hotel accommodation in Sochi 3 500 rubles per night, in Moscow – 3 100 rubles per night, in Saint-Petersburg – 2 700 rubles. The least expensive city is Kazan where tourists pay for hotel accommodation with child on the average 2 300 rubles per night.
The number of family trips within Russia, booked through Internet, grew twofold in comparison to last year. The families spend for accommodation in Russian hotels on the average 3 100 rubles which is twofold less than for hotels abroad, notices Yakov Sadchikov, the head of brand communication of Oktogo.
The demand for tours within Russia increased twofold, says Irina Kirgintzeva, the director of Russo Touristo. Among foreign destinations, Egypt and Arabic Emirates are still popular. In spring 2015, travelers with kids from Southern part of Russia prefer to make self-bookings for Prague, Tallinn, and Vienne (top three destinations). The longest city-breaks with kids are booked for Vienne (6 days).
