Smartwings Airlines resumed flights between St. Petersburg and Prague
The largest Czech airline Smartwings has resumed direct flights between St. Petersburg and Prague. The first flight from the Northern capital was scheduled for September 2, according to the official website of Pulkovo.
The flight program was announced twice a week - on Thursdays and Sundays. The minimum cost of an air ticket for the first flights is about 136 Euros. The back flights cost from 260 Euros. For more distant dates the cost of the flight is still fixed - from 89 Euros per person.
According to the flight schedule of the Pulkovo airport website, flights to Prague are also operated by Rossiya Airlines. Airplane departs on a similar route twice a week - on Wednesdays and Saturdays. At the same time, the price for a ticket is approximately comparable to the offers of the Czech carrier.
By a recent decision of the headquarters, the Czech Republic was included in the list of destinations allowed for passenger transportation. In April, 2021, Smartwings announced its intention to resume flights from St. Petersburg to Prague from May 2021. But at that time, the country was still closed for Russians. Now entry to its territory is available only to certain categories of citizens of the Russian Federation. Among them are diplomats, residence permit holders, athletes and students.
The Republic also excluded Russia from the list of countries with an extremely tense epidemiological situation, adding it to the dark red category. Gradually opening up for international tourism, since September, Prague Airport is strengthening control for documents proving the absence of COVID-19 among arriving passengers.
