Russia ranked fifth in terms of tourist flow to Israel in 2022
From January to October, Israel hosted more than 2 million foreign tourists, including almost 118 000 Russian ones, the country's Ministry of Tourism reports.
“In October 2022, 333 thousand tourists from all over the world entered Israel, which is 25% less than in October 2019. From January to October, the number of foreign tourists amounted to more than 2 million. This is 44% less than in the same pre-Covid 2019 period. The figures speak on a continuing trend towards the restoration of inbound tourism to the country.
According to the forecasts of the ministry, the total foreign tourist flow to Israel in 2022 will reach 2,4-2,6 million people.
Among the leading countries in terms of the number of tourists this year are the USA (632,5 thousand), France (188,5 thousand), Great Britain (143,6 thousand) and Germany (118 thousand).
Russia, from which almost 118 thousand tourists also visited Israel, took the fifth place. The tourist flow decreased by 58% compared to the same period of the record-breaking 2019.
Israel hosted 3,7 million foreign tourists in 2019 and 300 000 in 2021.
