Russia continues to lead in tourist flow to Thailand

According to the results of the first four days of 2022, Russian tourists continue to be on the leading position in the number of arriving of travelers to Thailand.

So, from 1 to 4 January this year, 2 511 tourists from Russia entered Thailand. Nowadays, the positions are as follows:
Sweden (1 633 tourists)
Germany (1 581 tourists);
Great Britain (1 435 tourists);
USA (1 434 tourists).

“Over the first four days of 2022, 32 627 travelers entered the country, 2 511 tourists of them were from Russia,” said Nataphanu Nophakuna, official representative of the Thai Foreign Ministry.

It is reported that the government's Center for the Control and Fight against the Spread of the Coronavirus of Thailand has taken an initiative to extend the temporary suspension of the issuance of permits for non-quarantine entry (except Phuket Island), due to the spread of a new strain of coronavirus - omicron.

It is expected that the new date, until which the restriction will be in effect, will be announced next week.
