Putin urges fulfilling all obligations to Transaero passengers
Russian President Vladimir Putin has urged carriage of all passengers of Transaero and solving the problem of employment of the airline’s employees. "First of all I would like to say that it is necessary to fulfill all obligations to passengers," he said at a cabinet meeting. He added that the majority of the company’s passengers have already been carried. "Secondly, it is necessary to do the best to solve social issues related to the employment of employees, pilots, navigators, flight attendants, other staff who work for Transaero, which is more than 10,000 people," Putin said. Putin attributed the current situation with the company to its financial policy. "This happened not only due to the crisis in the economy, even though it also affected the situation around Transaero. Nevertheless, these were the issues related with the company’s economic and financial policies which are in the core of all that," Putin said. He added that it is necessary to stop the sale of tickets of Transaero and think about the support of the airlines which provided assistance to the troubled company.
