Nearly 90,000 Russians leave Egypt since suspension of air communication
Almost 90,000 Russians have left Egypt since flights to Egypt were suspended, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS. The Federal Tourism Agency earlier said the program of getting Russian tourists vacationing on Egyptian resorts out of the country had been completed, adding there was a small number of Russians in Egypt, including guides. "Over the past 24 hours, 12 people were transferred to Russia by a transit flight. In all, more than 89,000 people have left Egypt by 416 flights," the Russian Emergencies Ministry said. Russian tourists’ luggage is delivered separately by aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the Defense Ministry and Volga-Dnepr Airlines. "The luggage of passengers of five flights is currently at the airports of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada," the Emergencies Ministry said. Nearly 780 tons of personal belongings of tourists who earlier left Egypt by 411 transit flights have been delivered to Russia since the suspension of flights to Egypt.
