More than 400 thousand Russian tourists visited Thailand in 2022

Russia entered the TOP-10 countries in terms of tourist flow to Thailand in 2022. The number of Russian tourists increased 14 times compared to 2021, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported.

The first place in terms of tourist flow to Thailand was taken by Malaysia, from where 1,94 million tourists came. In the second place is India with 997,9 thousand travelers. Singapore closes the TOP-3 (614,6 thousand). The TOP-5 also included South Korea (538,76 thousand) and Laos (502 thousand).

The list of the second five countries is opened by Vietnam, from where 468,4 thousand tourists came to the Kingdom. The US is in the seventh place (453,67 thousand), followed by the UK (444,4 thousand).

Russia took the ninth line: in 2022, 435 thousand citizens of the country visited Thailand, while in 2021 the tourist flow amounted to only 30,7 thousand people.

According to TAT, the total foreign tourist flow to Thailand in 2022 amounted to 11,2 million tourists, which is 26 times more than in 2021.
