The current winter season in Goa, according to experts, is similar to the season in 2019. However, the demand for destination this winter season is growing mainly due to regional tourists - tour operators offer a very budget tours - from 499 Euros per person.
Last year was not successful for India on the Russian market. According to the official data of FSB Border Service, over the first nine months of 2019, 119,4 thousand Russians visited India, which is less than in 2018, when India hosted 135 thousand tourists from Russia. About 80-90% of the Russian tourist flow in the destination is for the state of Goa.
Now, according to observers, the demand for this Indian state is growing. Goa at the end of the season has every chance to demonstrate annual growth.
According to the federal network of travel agencies "1001 tour", in the bookings for the I quarter of 2020, India's share is 7% of all booked tours in all destinations, and is on the 6-th line in the rating of winter destinations.
The company Biblio-Globus called Goa as one of the favorite winter destinations for Russian tourists. “Demand remains at the level of last year. The booking depth reaches March,” the tour operator’s press service said.
Probably, among other things, the stability of sales is due to the fact that the tour operator did not make changes in its product and volumes of transportation. Biblio-Globus, as before, flies to Goa from Moscow 4 times a week on Rossiya Airlines (Aeroflot Group).
The volume of transportation in the Indian destination is the same as last year for all players who use charters - Anex Tour, Pegas Touristik and Coral Travel. However, the sales of Goa are growing.
“Compared to last year’s figures, sales of the destination are higher by about 25%,” the tour operator’s press service said. The main factor in the growth of demand is a wide regional transportation. These are direct flights to Goa from 10 regional cities of the Russian Federation - Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Samara, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg and Ufa.
