Electronic visas did not help Goa
The tourist industry has noted a decrease in the interest of Russian tourists in the celebration of the New Year in Goa.
High competition between the countries of Southeast Asia, as well as an increased demand for the Caribbean and the popularity of Turkey have led to the fact that the demand for the Indian state fell by 10-15% compared to last year indicators.
“Despite the fact that the prices in Goa are 15–20% lower than in other Asian regions, and even after the introduction of electronic visas, we generally notice a decline in demand for the destination,” summarizes Maria Leshcheva-Konabeeva, the director of marketing and advertising at Tbs Group.
According to a number of travel agents, this year India has shifted from the 8-th to the 10-th position in the rating of New Year's sales.
Aleksan Mkrtchyan, the general director of the travel agency network Pink Elephant, adds: “India has regular customers who prefer this particular area. Fans of the luxury segment or families with children can choose the state of Goa one-time, but after they will give preference to other countries.”
Experts note an increased demand for tours with a departure on January 1-3, when the cost of living is reduced compared to New Year's Eve. 75% of tourists prefer hotels 3 and 4*. The average duration of the tour is nine days, its price varies from 1 418 to 2 836 Euros.
