In two years, the number of outgoing tour operators dropped three times

A number of outgoing tour operators in Russia for two years has decreased three times, the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze reported.

In 2014 there were about 2 000 outgoing tour operators in Russia, now there are only 600," Lomidze said. She noted that companies will continue to leave the market. "According to my estimates, about 20% of the remaining companies could quit the tourism business,» she added.

Executive director of ATOR also added that closing of Turkey and Egypt was a strong blow for the tour operators. "The impact was strong, but not death. Business came in to financial stability, since mostly small and medium sized companies left the market, Lomidze added.
