In the first quarter of 2018 more than 303 thousand Russians visited Phuket
For the period from January 1 to March 31, 2018 more than 303 thousand Russian citizens visited the resort island of Phuket in Thailand. It is a 47% increase in comparison with the same period of the previous year. The corresponding information was published by the consulting company C9 Hotelworks. The data is based on information received by the company in the immigration service of Phuket airport. According to C9 Hotelworks, in the first quarter 2.7 million passengers passed through passport control at the international airport of Phuket, which is 19.3% higher than the last year's figure. Thus, Russian share is approximately 11.2% of all passengers arrived to Phuket airport. By the volume of the tourist flow Russia is on the second line after China. 660 thousand travelers from China arrived in January-March to Phuket (an increase of 50%). After China and Russia in the TOP 5 are Germany, Sweden and Australia. It is noticeable that unaccounted were the tourists who arrived to Phuket via the airport of Krabi province, which is a few hours away of Phuketand and where a part of the charter flights from Russia perform landing. Thus, the real tourist flow from Russia to the Thai island of Phuket is higher than the indicated 303 thousand people for three months.
