In February 2015 Egypt earned on tourists $ 442 million
Revenues from tourism received by Egypt in February 2015, were $ 442 million, while the tourists start spending for the night in a hotel in an average for $ 2 less, reported on Monday by Daily News Egypt.
According to the Ministry of Tourism of the country, Egypt's tourism revenues in February totaled $ 442 million. At the same time the average cost decreased to $ 78.3 per night, while in the last quarter of last year there were $ 80.1.
In February, Egypt was visited by over 640 thousand tourists, which is by 3.8% more than in the same month a year earlier. Most tourists came from Western Europe, which is 40.4% of the total number of visitors, followed by Eastern Europe (32.4%), 13.4% of tourists came from the Middle East.
The number of tourists from Russia in the first quarter of 2015 decreased by 20%, which, as the newspaper notes, can create additional difficulties for the tourism sector in Egypt. Last year, the Russians made up about a third of total tourist flow into the country.
Total in 2015 Egypt expects to receive 12 million tourists.
