In 2022 Russia entered the TOP-5 in terms of tourist flow to Israel
Russia in 2022 entered again the TOP-5 countries in terms of tourist flow to Israel, the press service of the country's Ministry of Tourism reports.
“In 2022, 2,67 million tourists from all over the world visited Israel, which is 41% lower than the record year of 2019, but indicates a high rate of recovery of the tourist flow,” the message says.
Most tourists came from the United States – 793,7 thousand, minus 16% compared to 2019. In the second place is France, from where 231,5 thousand tourists arrived, which is a third less than in 2019. The third place was taken by Great Britain (174,6 thousand tourists, minus 23%). On the fourth line is Russia with 160 thousand tourists. This is 52% less than in the record-breaking 2019. The fifth place was taken by Germany (141 thousand tourists).
«2022 has been a year of a recovery from the pandemic crisis. The trend is positive and breaking of the inbound tourism record 2019 is a realistic goal, » Ministry of Tourism underlines.
In 2019, 4,55 million foreign tourists visited Israel, including almost 320 thousand Russian ones. Russia was the third source market after the United States and France in terms of tourist flow.
