Border opening for tourism to China is not defined yet
According to statistics on the departure of Russians abroad, 2 606 719 trips were made to China in 2019. The Russian Foreign Ministry reminds that China itself has closed the borders for foreigners. It was here that the first outbreak of COVID-19 was recorded. And, despite the improvement of the epidemiological situation, no prerequisites for cancelation of the restrictions are expected in the near future.
"By the decision of the Chinese competent authorities, the entry into this country of foreign citizens with visas has still been suspended." In addition, visa-free travel has also been frozen in several regions, including the island of Hainan, popular among Russians. The Russian Foreign Ministry has not received any notifications from the Chinese authorities on plans to mitigate the restrictions.
