Bahrain and Kuwait will become visa-free for Russian tourists
Two more Persian Gulf countries, interesting for Russian tourists not only as transit hubs, but also as a holiday destination, may become visa-free in the nearest future. These are Bahrain and Kuwait, which are considering the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime with Russia. The relevant information was provided to the publication by the press service of the Russian embassies in these countries.
“We continue systematic work to establish a visa-free regime between our countries. This proposal is being studied by the Kuwaiti authorities,” the Russian Embassy in Kuwait said.
In turn, the Russian embassy in Bahain noted that the abolition of visas for holders of ordinary passports – including tourists – is already being worked out by the relevant departments of the two countries. “Bahrain is studying the Russian draft of the relevant intergovernmental agreement,” the embassy emphasized.
At the same time, Russian passenger traffic is actively growing in Bahrain. We are talking about direct flights of the local carrier Gulf Air, which flies on the route Manama – Moscow (Domodedovo) on a daily basis. “The Russian side expects that in the future the countries will be able not only to return to pre-pandemic indicators (66 thousand people in 2019), but also to surpass them,” the sources added.
