A ski resort will open in Russia above the Arctic Circle
In 2028, in the heart of the Russian Arctic, above the Arctic Circle, a landmark event for the entire tourism world will take place: the opening of the first polar ski resort Ray-Iz.
This ambitious project is being implemented by the Government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO) with the support of Gazprombank and leading management companies. The opening of the Ray-Iz ski resort in Yamal was announced at the FTT-2025 Tourism Territories Forum.
The resort will become more than just a sports complex, but a true «gateway to the Arctic», offering a unique combination of extreme recreation, luxury service, and immersion in the culture and nature of the Far North.
The ski resort will be located in the picturesque Ingilor National Park, which covers almost 1 million hectares. This polar complex will be one of the northernmost in the world and will offer over 11.5 km of trails for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
Entertainment and leisure facilities will include:
• A ski school for adults and children
• An ethno village and husky park for exploring northern culture
• An extreme sports park with a rope course, zip line, skate park, and climbing wall
• A conference center for 450 people
• Restaurants and bars to suit every taste: from hotel buffets to a themed restaurant at the foot of the mountain and the Free Flow fast-food café
• A fairground and a stage for events
• A children's leisure center with entertainers, interactive museums, playgrounds, and its own characters – Olenok and Wolverine
