Travel agents reported what tourists prefer instead Turkey
The demand for tours to Tunisia has noticeably activated this year. The rate of early booking is 20% higher than last year. The increase mainly occurs due to the redistribution of tourists from the more expensive Turkish destination.
According to tourism retail, the firm competition from Tunisia provoked Turkish hoteliers to partially revise their pricing policy for the summer of 2019. “Analyzing the demand, they reduce the cost for accommodation in low-cost facilities in Turkey, making them equal to the cost of hotels in Tunisia,” said Farman Huseynov, the Director of the Travel Company. Thus, the cost of an 11-day trip to Tunisia with accommodation in a 3* hotel with departure from Nizhny Novgorod in May begins from 68 thousand Rubles (908 Euros) for two persons. The price for tour to Turkey with similar positions is a couple thousand Rubles (27 Euros) more. But prices for hotels 4-5* in Turkey are much higher than the prices for similar objects in Tunisia.
However, to say that Tunisia will become on the first position in demand, of course, it is impossible. “Turkey will certainly have the advantage. Just because of the large volumes,”- say in travel agencies.
In general, experts give positive forecasts for the summer season. According to them, sales of tours to Crete, Spain, Greece are also going well. “The reduction of flight programs for the main destinations did not happen. The demand corresponds to the proposal,” conclude the leading tourist players.
