Tourist flow from Russia to Japan increased 5,2 times

The Russian tourist flow to Japan from Russia increased 5,2 times over the 3 quarters of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

As ATOR reported with reference to the Japan National Tourism Organization, the total number of foreign citizens who entered Japan in January-September 2023 amounted to 17 374 300 people. In September 2023 – 2 184 300 people.

It is clarified that for the first 3 quarters of this year, South Korea with 4 894 800 people entered the TOP 3, followed by Taiwan (2 974 600 people) and China (1 597 800 people).

Over the 9 months of 2023, 27 100 people came from Russia to Japan, of which 4 300 people came in September. The tourist flow from the Russian Federation for the period January-September 2023 increased by 5,2 times compared to the same period in 2022, but remained more than 3 times lower than for the 3 quarters of 2019.
