Tour operators talked about possible forecasts for the timing of opening of Italy
Italy promises not to complicate the visa procedure for Russians and will not require tourists to test on the absence of coronavirus.
The Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano told reporters about the possible dates of the reception of Russian tourists. From June 3 Italy has opened the borders within the EU. According to Mr. Terracciano, with the opening of the external borders of the EU from June 15, Italy is ready to receive Russian tourists.
The Republic hopes that Russia will take similar steps. As the ambassador noted, in this case, it is possible that regular flights between Russia and Italy will be opened from mid-June.
Italy does not plan to demand from tourists certificates of the absence of coronavirus. The procedure for obtaining a visa will not be complicated. Moreover, Italian diplomats will try to facilitate the process of issuing Schengen to the maximum.
The representatives of the Italian office of the tour operator Tez Tour are more optimistic. According to them, Italy is preparing special agreements on "tourist corridors" with Germany, Russia and China. If the countries agree, then in late June, Italy may receive the first tourists from Russia. However, as Tez Tour informed, the main demand for the destination now is for the autumn season.
“This is due to the fact that tourists try to postpone trips to later dates, fearing that the borders will not open by the time of the planned vacation,” Tez Tour explains.
According to Intourist, Italian partners are waiting for Russian tourists and are ready to give attractive special offers.
