Tour operator ANEX Tour cancels promo rates
ANEX Tour changes the terms of cooperation with tourist retail. It was said by the Deputy General Director of the tour operator, Yana Muromova on March 13 at the MITT exhibition. "From April 1, we will cancel the promo-rates," she announced. The travel agents, presented at the exhibition, responded to this message with great enthusiasm.
“When tour operators started introducing promo prices, it became just a murder weapon for retail. I hope that other travel operators will follow the example of ANEX Tour,” commented Alexan Mkrtchyan, the head of Pink Elephant travel agency network.
ANEX Tour is not the first who decided to abandon promo tariffs. In early 2019, Pegas Touristik tour operator had canceled them. Moreover, the commission of Pegas for such tours was even lower than that of the ANEX Tour - 6.5% against 7. However, at the same time, Pegas reduced the maximum level for agency fees from 11 to 9%. And corrected the rules of its calculation - episodic bookings have become completely unprofitable for retail partners, now only those who actively cooperate with the supplier can count on a high percentage.
Observers have suggested that ANEX Tour will revise the rules for travel agents. The company confirmed this fact, but did not disclose the details, noting briefly: “The agency policy will be announced simultaneously - on April 1. Changes that we have planned are in the mutual interests of retail partners and ours.”
