The tourists flow from Russia to Israel increased by 54% in February
“The number of tourists visiting Israel from Russia increased by 54% in February 2017 against the same period of the last year”, - said the Director of the department of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in Russia Ksenia Kobyakova. "In January, the tourists flow from Russia to Israel amounted 19.6 thousand, in February - 20.9 thousand people, which is 23% and 54% more than in the same months of last year", - reported Kobyakova. As the General Director of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel Amir Khalevi noted, the Russian market is important for Israel. He recalled that in 2016 600 thousand Americans came to the country. "We hope that the Russian market will compete with the American one", - stressed A. Khalevi. As reported, in 2016 Israel was visited by more than 2.9 million travelers from all over the world (not including one-day tourists), which is 4% more than in 2015. At the same time an absolute record was noted in September-December 2016 - the country was visited by one million tourists. In 2016 the Russian tourist flow to Israel was 266 thousand people, a significant increase was achieved in December - this month the country was visited by 21.3 thousand tourists from Russia, which is 41% more than in the same period of 2015 .
