The Russian tourist flow to Dubai doubled in the first quarter of 2018

“The Russian tourist flow to Dubai continues to grow, in the first quarter of 2018 it increased by 106% - up to 260 thousand arrivals”, - reports the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of the Emirates (DTMC). In total, Dubai hosted 4.7 million foreign tourists in the first quarter, 2% more than a year earlier. The first lines in the list of arrivals are occupied by India (617 thousand, plus 7%), Saudi Arabia (minus 1%) and Great Britain (minus 8%). Russia is on the fourth line with a result of 259 thousand arrivals and an increase of 106%. The fifth line was taken by China, from which 258 thousand tourists came in the first quarter, which is 12% more than in the same period a year earlier. According to DTCM, the increase of the number of tourists from Russia and China is connected with the simplification of a visa regime for citizens of these countries in 2017.
