The number of flights between Russia and Thailand can grow
“Thailand's Cabinet of Ministers approved an increase of the number of flights between Russia and Thailand in order to increase the tourist flow”, - the newspaper Bangkok Post reported. The number of flights of Russian airlines to Bangkok can now be increased from 70 to 105 per week and flights to Phuket - up to 56 flights a week. In turn, the Thai airlines can increase the number of flights to Moscow from 70 to 105 per week and to St. Petersburg - from 28 to 56 flights. “Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket are among the most popular destinations for tourists from Russia. However, the economic recession in Russia has led to a reduction in the number of Russians visiting the country”, - the newspaper said. So, in 2015, 884 thousand Russian tourists have rested in Thailand, which is 44% less than in 2014, when the number of visitors reached 1.6 million. As the Minister of Transport of Thailand Arkom Termpittayyapaysith said, permission for additional flights will stimulate the growth of tourist flow from Russia in the future.
