The growth of Russian tourism in Israel

“The tourist flow from Russia to Israel increased by 40% last year in comparison with 2016, the country was visited by more than 397 thousand Russians”, - reported the press service of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel. "Russia is still on the second position in the list of TOP 3 of incoming markets as of the end of 2017. The data as at the beginning of 2018 is also very positive - 22,800 Russian tourists visited Israel in January, which is 7% higher than the last year's figures”, - informed the press service. The department noted that at present time 77 direct flights are performed between Russia and Israel per week, from April 2018 this number will increase up to 82. Also the ministry said that totally in 2017 Israel was visited by 3.8 million tourists from all over the world - the growth of the tourist flow amounted 26% against the indicators of 2016. "This is an absolute record of the tourist flow from the day of the founding of our country. We expect that this trend will continue. Also the ministry will continue to support tour operators, both those who work with Israel on a permanent basis and potential partners. In addition special attention will be paid to the promotion in online segment", - the press service of the department concluded.
