Thailand opens borders for international flights
On Monday, June 29, the Thai Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) announced that it will lift the ban on international flights from July 1. To say the truth, the cancelation does not extend to everyone. The ban on entry is removed for foreigners entering with business purposes. Foreign tourists can also come to Thailand with medical purpose.
According to Ms. Anoma Wongyai, the director of the Moscow office of Tourism Authority of Thailand, the exact dates of the opening of international borders for the other categories of citizens are still unknown.
In the near future the guests from Russia will not be able to take advantage of Thai hospitality. “It is extremely difficult to make forecasts in the situation of uncertainty. I believe that November - early December is the most optimistic forecast for the opening of Thailand for Russian tourists. Moreover, it is likely that regular communication will be restored first, and only then the country will begin to serve charter flights from Russia,” said Andrei Snetkov, Director General of Tez Tour Thailand.
Andrei Snetkov believes that the restoration of the Russian tourist flow to Thailand at the level of recent years can be expected only by the end of 2021.
