Thailand expects 377 thousand tourists from Russia in the first quarter of 2023
According to the fresh Thai statistics, the data of which was provided by Moscow office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in November the Kingdom accepted 109,4 thousand tourists from Russia.
November values more than doubled the figures of October and allowed Russia to take the first place in terms of tourist flow among non-Asian countries and the third place in the world rating.
Following the results of 11 months of this year, Thailand received 256,5 thousand tourists from Russia. And this has already exceeded the forecast data of 250 thousand tourists in 2022, which were made by experts in August, when restrictions were still in effect in Thailand and it was only clear that direct flights would be resumed.
With the extensive flight program to Thailand and high demand, experts believe that December figures for Russian tourist traffic will exceed November data (109,4 thousand tourists).
As per the forecasts of the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, from January to March 2023, Thailand can accept more than 377,5 thousand tourists from Russia.
The Ministry believes that about 170 000 tourists will arrive on direct regular flights, about 150 000 - on charter flights. The remaining more than 55 000 tourists will arrive in Thailand on connecting flights.
Nowadays, according to the president of the Chonburi Provincial Tourism Board, bookings in January and February are showing an increase of 80% compared to last year. And the increase is mainly due to the Russian market.
Pattaya in the period from December to March 2023 can accept about 70 thousand Russians, experts believe.
