US$180 billion Muslim Travel Market set to dominate ITB Asia 2018
By 2020, it is expected that there will be 156 million Muslim travellers, growing nearly 30% since 2016. By 2026, the estimated total purchase by Muslim travellers is expected to rise to US$ 300 billion, which is more than double in volume over a decade. ITB Asia sees record number of new exhibitors for its 11th show in Singapore
ITB Asia, ‘Asia’s Leading Travel Trade Show’ is already exceeding expectations on exhibitor numbers, recording a 20.8% increase in new exhibitors signing up for the show, versus the same period last year. This comes after the enormous success of last year’s 10th anniversary show which saw record-breaking numbers with 113 countries exhibiting at the event.
Luxury travel continues to grow
More and more holidaymakers are spending heavily on the best weeks of the year. With an increase of around 18 per cent since 2014, luxury travel has grown nearly twice as much as international travel in general, which grew by about 9 per cent since 2014.
