Sales of tours to Greece for the autumn season are stable
In the 2021 season, Greece was left without a charter flights, and this circumstance reduced the audience of the Greek destination.
“Greece has ceased to be a massive medium-budget family destination. The client's solvency has changed, and the audience itself has changed. More often couples are traveling, without children. In the premium segment, there is no decrease in demand for Greece, while in the middle segment, sales are very far from the indicators of 2019,” - the experts of the tour operator Kmp Group describe the situation.
Greece is now available primarily for tourists with a large vacation budget. This fact is confirmed, for example, by the fact that the overwhelming majority of Russians who went to Greece this summer on regular flights, booked hotels of category 4 and 5*. This trend continued in the autumn season as well. Tour operators estimate sales of tours to Greece for this period as stable - but keeping in mind, first of all, high-budget and luxury segments.
“The autumn season is well booked,” - states Pac Group operator. “The demand is quite high,” - Paks confirms. But, these operators in Greece are mainly focused on individual tours with a high budget.
The tour operators Coral Travel, Russian Express, Space Travel and Tui Russia reported that the demand for the autumn season in Greece is even higher than in the summer months, which is partly due to the understandable flight program for the destination. “The conditions of entry to Greece have remained unchanged over the past months, which allows tourists to book a destination with great confidence,” - adds Tui operator.
Representatives of the tour operator Intourist reports about quite active reservations of mainland Greece and Crete in the autumn. Russian Express notes an increase in the number of bookings of tours to Rhodes, Crete, Halkidiki and Corfu.
