Ural Airlines aims to launch daily flights from Moscow to Mumbai
Russia’s third largest air carrier by passenger numbers, Ural Airlines (based in Ekaterinburg), wants to start daily flights between Mumbai and Moscow. The airline recently conducted its inaugural Mumbai — Moscow flight. “India is being the most (fastest) developing country in the world, we are trying to open up the route with an aim of having four weekly flights between Mumbai and Moscow, (later) increasing it to daily flights,” Marianna Galagura, head of its international relations and charter sales department of the air carrier, said.
“In the future, we would like to have connecting flights between Sochi and New Delhi as well as between St Petersburg and Mumbai. It is a plan we are working on now,” she added. Ural Airlines currently flies to over 300 destinations. “We are also adding some Chinese routes and increasing Europe operations,” Galagura said.
The airline has 47 aircrafts and would add four more by the end of this year, she said, adding that the company is aiming to increase the size of its fleet to 100 by next year- end. At the beginning of the year, Ural Airlines said it will aim for new records both in terms of traffic and fleet development in 2019, with 10 million passengers expected.
