Russian tourist flow to Thailand is growing rapidly
Between January 1 and November 10, 2022, Thailand hosted 7 349 843 foreign tourists. Thus, the minimum forecast figures for the annual tourist flow in 2022 - 7 million - have already been exceeded ahead of schedule. Taking into account the active current demand, there is a reason to believe that the Kingdom will be able to come close to the maximum forecast volumes - 10 million tourists by the end of 2022.
Based on the results of 10 months, Russia is in the TOP-10 in terms of tourist flow to Thailand and has every chance in the very near future to significantly strengthen its position.
So, only on November 1, according to the information of the immigration service of the Phuket airport, 1 544 Russians arrived in Thailand from Russia. And this is the best daily indicator for this day among TOP-10 countries. India is on the second position with 753 arrivals on November 1.
The resulting picture is easily explained: direct flights of airlines flew to Thailand from Moscow and the regions, both regular (Aeroflot, S7) and charter (Icarus).
Russia began to occupy a leading position in terms of tourist flow to Thailand since the beginning of September. It was from the first autumn month that the tourist flow rushed up. According to the official statistics of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, 15 900 Russians arrived in the Kingdom in September, which is more than 40% higher than in August and more than 50% in July.
But the real breakthrough was in October. During this month, 43 645 Russians arrived in the country. And this is the best indicator for the Russian Federation for all 10 months.
In total, 147 030 Russians visited Thailand over 10 months of 2022. Of this number, September and October accounted for 59 545 tourists - that is, the last two months formed 41% of the total tourist flow.
