Russian tourist flow to Indonesia will set a historical record in 2023
The volume of Russian tourist flow to Indonesia in December exceeded the figures for the entire 2019. By the end of 2023, the tourist flow could reach about 155 thousand visits, exceeding pre-Covid figures by more than 20%. Sales of tours to Bali from tour operators have also increased.
By November, the volume of tourist flow from the Russian Federation reached 131 482 visits and exceeded the figures for the entire 2019, when 125 thousand Russians came to the country.
Official statistics for 2023 have not yet been published, but, according to experts, the tourist flow in November and December is likely to exceed the October figures – 11 410 Russians. Thus, by the end of 2023, Indonesia can receive at least 155 thousand Russians.
Experts explain the dynamics of demand primarily by the high interest from the part of tourists who travel to Indonesia for a long period of time (“winterers” and “remote workers”).
Official statistics confirmed this observation - the average length of stay of Russians in the country in 2023 is 48 days, which is much longer than that of citizens of any other country coming to Indonesia.
“In terms of sales volumes of tours to Indonesia, we have not only returned to pre-pandemic indicators, but we are recording an increase of 20-25% by 2019,” Russian Express specified.
Space Travel also talks about impressive growth in demand. In 2023, sales growth in the Indonesian destination was tenfold in this company.
“It is easy to get to Bali, which accounts for more than 90% of all tour sales to Indonesia. Regular transportation via Dubai, Qatar, Istanbul is available. So tourists are quite actively buying tickets themselves,” explains Space Travel.
