Russian tourist flow to Indonesia is on the rise
According to the fresh Indonesian statistics for the 12 months of 2022, the Russian tourist flow to this island nation has noticeably increased since October. The current dynamics of demand, as well as prices for tours, is also not bad. The prices for holidays in Bali in January, February and March 2023 are comparable to the prices for tours to other countries of Southeast Asia which are popular among Russians.
As per statistics for 12 months of 2022, 52 217 tourists from Russia visited the country. Of these, 27 119 tourists arrived over the last two months of autumn: in October – 11 735 and in November – 15 384 tourists from Russia.
However, the real demand is still much less than potential due to continued entry restrictions and the lack of direct flights. There is no information, even approximate, when restrictions on entry into Indonesia will be lifted.
As for direct flights to Indonesia, negotiations on this topic with Aeroflot have been underway since the summer of 2022, but so far there are no noticeable results.
It is now possible to get to Indonesia by connecting flights, and due to the fact that tour operators have taken blocks of seats on Emirates flights along the route Moscow - Dubai - Denpasar - Dubai - Moscow, the prices for tours are at an acceptable level. And these prices are comparable to the prices for vacations in other popular among Russians countries of Southeast Asia.
For example, tourists can buy a tour to Bali from Russian Express on the Emirates block transportation with a departure on February 29 for 13 days for $ 3 260 for two persons.
With the tour operator Paks, which also took blocks of seats on Emirates, tourists can fly to Bali in February for $ 3 274 for two (hotel 3*). A tour with similar parameters, but to a 4* hotel costs at least $ 3 300, and to a 5* hotel - from $ 3 460 for two persons.
